Greater Moncton Corvette Club - Minutes of August 6, 2012

The regular monthly meeting of the Greater Moncton Corvette club was held on August 6 at the Lounsbury's Meeting Room.  The following members were present:  Wornick Price, Gary & Suzanne Gaskin, Pat Roy, Paul Dunn, Steve White, Gerry & Annette Warren, Chanel Michaud, Doug MacDonald, Art & Diane Belliveau, Roger & Leontine Boudreau, Roger Bourgeois, Don MacAuley; Dwight & Libby Rayworth.

The July minutes were not read.

Old Business

Five cars participated in the run to Kingslanding.   

Atlantic Nationals  - On Wednesday there was a cruise to the Pointe du Chene Wharf for a car show by Moncton Speed & Custom Club,  also a cruise to the Bay with 38 vettes parked together.  $1,338.50 was raised for our charity The Autism Resource Centre.   On Wednesday morning Roger was on CBC Radio promoting the Breakfast in Riverview.  Some cars participated in a run to Alma.  Roger took some corvettes from Connecticut, Pennsylvania and Massachusettes to lunch.  On Friday a few of our members volunteered to park cars on Main Street.  Then a group of corvettes had lunch at L'Abouteau  where 2 gas cards were drawn for and won by Dwight & Libby and Gerry & Annette.  In the afternoon we visited Michel Leblanc's garage which contained a lot of memorabilia.  Friday evening we attended the downtown street party.

We had 88 cars registered for the corvette show on Saturday on the hill. Thanks to everyone for helping out at the show.  Steve registered cars on line and was able to come up with the following data for us.

Supper took place after at Jeanne's Restaurant on Mountain Road where some very nice prizes were drawn for including jackets provided by Leon's work along with a gift certificate for a great price for tires.   That evening  Roger took a few cars from Pennsylvania  to see  Magnetic Hill.  A group of us watched the cars parade up and down Mountain Road.  On Sunday, numerous Vettes parked again on the hill for the day.

Registration for next year's Atlantic Nationals  before December 31, 2012 is $30.00. 

At the BBQ put on by the Autism Resource Centre, they raised about $2,500 on Saturday and approximately the same on Sunday.  Proceeds from the sale of our T-shirts will go to the Centre as well.

Thanks go out to Mike and Jeannie Lipton for the event held at their cottage at Tatamagouche.  Those who attended had a great day.

Our club won club participation at the Corvette Club of Nova Scotia Maritime Meet.

Thanks to Paul & Della for the great trip they planned to Yarmouth for the N.B. Day long Weekend.  Nine cars participated in this run.

New Business

The Cruise to the Bay is happening on August 15 where we again host the cruise.  Please attend if you can.

The Corvette Club of Southern New Brunswick will hold its show on August 10, 11.  Please bring a non-perishable food item for the food bank.  We will be leaving McDonald's Magnetic hill at 9:00 a.m.  Registration is from 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 noon.  The Supper will be held at the 3 Mile Steak House - $20.

The PEI Car show will be held August 18-19.  We will leave the Big Stop in Aulac on Saturday at 9:00 a.m.

August 23 is Cruise to DUB hosted by A & W.  Please purchase a teen burger as part of the price of the burger will be donated to M.S.

Vettes to Vettes will take place September 29 & 30.  Information on this event is in our Calendar of Events.

Our Christmas Party will be held on Saturday, December 8 at the Moncton Dart Club. 

The Financial Statement was read.  See attached. There was a motion by Wornick, seconded by Dwight that the report be accepted. Carried.

Don MacAulay won $15 in the 50/50 draw.
