Greater Moncton Corvette Club
Minutes of May 7, 2012
The monthly meeting of the Greater Moncton Corvette Club was held in the Lounsbury meeting room on May 7 with the following members present: Roger & Angie Bourgeois, Gary Gaskin, Brent Crawford, Pat Roy, Doug MacDonald, Paul Dunn, Steve White, Gerry & Annette Warren, Dwight & Libby Rayworth, Wornick Price, Art & Diane Belliveau, Alfred Landry, Bob Surrette, Jacques & Monique Bosse.
The April minutes stood as read.
Speed Sports – Thanks from everyone to Wornick for organizing Speed Sport for us again this year. And thanks to Doug for letting us put his car in the show. It was noted the turnout for this year's show was below average possibly due to the fact that it was held on Easter Weekend.
The Atlantic Corvette Club Meeting was held the weekend of Speed Spor. Roger summarized some of the discussion for us. PEI show will be held the weekend of August 18, 19. A 2014 Caravan is planned for Bowling Green and a Captain is needed from this area to help with the tour. The yearly Scarecrow Festival will be held September 29 & 30. Corvette Club of Nova Scotia's show will be held on July 28. Corvettes at Carlisle will be held August 22-27.
There was discussion about the Bowling Challenge that is held yearly. River Valley Vettes want to hold the Bowling Challenge again. Our club will not host the Bowling Challenge again due to lack of interest.
On May 19 we are invited to the Maritime Motorsports Hall of Fame in Petitcodiac to participate in a BBQ. Our Club is to supply pop, water and condiments. Fiberglass Alley will hold their show in Fredericton June 15-17. There was a suggestion that GMCC change their show registration location. This will not happen. Registration will take place at Casino New Brunswick, like last year.
Financial Report - Our balance as of May 7 is __________. We have 64 paid members to date.
Motion: It was moved by Wornick, seconded by Doug that the financial report be accepted. Carried.
Bills for Payment - Lanyards purchased by Angie $177.41
Motion: It was moved by Bob, seconded by Pat that this bill be paid. Carried.
New Business - May 12 the River Valley Vettes are planning a day trip to Woodstock. Our club will leave McDonald's at 7:30 a.m.
Bar Harbor Show will be June 1-3.
Our lobster lunch will be held on May 26. Please meet at the Shediac Canadian Tire Parking lot at 11:30 a.m. to travel to Bouctouche for 12:00 noon.
Motion: It was moved by Paul, seconded by Pat that the Club purchase $300 worth of $25 gas cards (12) to be distributed over the summer on trips that we take. This will be in lieu of paying for lobsters for the Club. Carried.
Thanks was extended to Paul for the articles he has contributed to Fast Past Magazine on the Club's behalf.
Steve reported he had attended a Cruise to the Bay meeting and cruises will start on May 30. We will sponsor the cruise on July 11 and August 15.
Monique won $16 in the 50/50 draw. Congratulations Monique.
