Roger Bourgeois chaired the meeting.  The meeting began at 10:00 a.m.  He welcomed everyone and was pleased with the turnout.  A special thank you to our sponsor Lounsbury for the use of their facility, along with coffee & donuts.

PEI's Errol Callbeck began by thanking GMCC for hosting, as well as Lounsbury for the use of the meeting room.  Their club show is scheduled for August 16th weekend.  The Sunday portion will be held at Action Car & Truck Accessories and the facility will be open for business.  The Saturday run & evening BBQ is open for suggestions from the other clubs.

There are some PE members going to Bowling Green, KT, and will be joining the New Jersey caravan.  Following Kentucky, they will head to Graceland.  Everyone is welcome to accompany them on that side trip.  Please contact Errol if you are interested.   An email will be sent once all details are established.

Vernon, of RVV, indicated that their club members are hoping the drive on Saturday will be a little shorter than the past years, as they drive from Fredericton to PEI and find the run on Sat too long.  The other club representatives present felt the drive was an acceptable duration and recommended that the usual time be set aside for that day.  Roger voiced that a lot of the GMCC members enjoy the run on Saturday and look forward to the tour of Island.

The PEI members meet during the winter months for breakfast get togethers.

Dorothy Miller spoke on behalf of the CCSNB (Roger Herrington was in Florida).  Their club is asking for Kings Square to host their show (Aug 8-9).  The City has not yet confirmed the availability.  If this turns out to be impossible, the show will be held at Brett's.  There will be the usual meet & greet on Friday of their show weekend, but an email will be sent to the clubs once details are arranged.

She confirms that their members have indicated that they will be participating in as many club Corvette shows as possible.  They will make a particular effort to attend the Nova Scotia show.  That weekend is always a busy one for their members.

Wayne spoke on behalf of the RVV members.  They also got together during the winter months for breakfast gatherings.  He wanted us to note particularly that their show date has changed to June 21st.  A tour will be held for those participants arriving on Friday evening, followed by a meet & greet, following the show and shine on Saturday, a charity tour will take us to the evening banquet.  A gathering with wine & cheese will be held for those not taking the charity tour on Sat.  "Dress up" details for the banquet to follow soon.  Their club's calendar of events is now posted on the web site.

Ray Cromwell, from the newest club to join our group, the Loyalist City Corvettes, reviewed their club's summer schedule which includes a run to Grand Manan, Bangor, etc.  No show will be held this year.  The new club has only one rule.... no rules.  They meet when necessary.  They are emphasizing this as a family oriented Corvette club.

Troy, representing the CCNS, indicated that their club's show and shine will basically be the same as last year.... same location, being Stuart's Kia in Truro, on July 26th.

NS Member Tim Gilby is organizing the run to participate in the Vettes of Coastal Main Bar Harbor weekend.  If anyone is interested in joining his caravan, please let him know.
NS Members Rick & Nancy Lattimer on organizing a tour of Shelburne for August 22-24.  There will be a meet & greet on Saturday, along with a run.
Another of their members is setting up a trip to the Cabot Trail for October 11-12th.
All details of their summer schedule will be posted on the club's website.

Roger represented the GMCC members.  Further to Ray's comment about family,  Roger added that all the clubs are encouraged to bring along family members to Corvette events/gatherings, even if it means taking along the "daily driver" vehicle to accommodate everyone.    In particular, the GMCC club always encouraged children's participation in the club activities.

As is the practise from previous years, GMCC's show and shine will be held at Centennial Park in conjunction with the Atlantic Nationals.  Roger noted that if you had registered prior to December 31st, the weekend would cost you $35 which includes parking with the other Corvettes on the hill and participation in all activities, including prizes,  for a Vette & 2 occupants.  If you decide not to participate in the show, but want to view the cars in Centennial Park, admission is $10/person and parking is $10-15 (depending on where on St George you are able to find a spot, and then it means a fairly good walk to the park).  So, even if you think you are only coming for the day in 2015, pre-register and drive right in.

The show is held on Saturday, July 12th, and we will make our annual run to l'Aboiteau Restaurant at Cap-Pelé wharf/beach for a feast, followed by a viewing of Michel LeBlanc's collectibles (his spot was featured on Canadian Pickers television show).  Then its head to downtown Moncton for a relaxing walk among the cars on Main Street and if you are not over-tired, you can dance to the music of the various live bands (Main St is blocked off to traffic for that purpose Friday).   Following our show on Saturday, we will head to Jean's Restaurant.

Roger closed off the meeting with an invitation for folks to view the cars at the Moncton Coliseum.  Radical Speed Sport is the beginning of our short season.  And don't forget that Moncton's first Corvette show will be held on June 7 (rain date June 8th) at Lounsbury Chevrolet, West Main St.  Roger handed out the GMCC calendar, which is always updated on our club's website.

Thank you everyone for making this an enjoyable and informative meeting.  Next meeting will be held on October 25th .... same location.  Have a safe summer !

Angela Bourgeois
