Austin Riley Weekend

Following is information about an event to benefit Autism Resource Centre on July 31, August 1.  Note that our planned trip to King's Landing takes place on August 2.  If you are unable to make the King's Landing trip, you may want to consider this activity.


In the beginning of 2015 Austin Riley and his team set up on a North American tour that would take them on a 22952 km journey that would include 16 states and 5 provinces. The purpose; to spread awareness and educate people on Autism through the sport of kart racing.
The last stop on the tour will be Moncton NB at the local kart track, East Coast Kart home of the PSL Moncton race team and local karting club CKRA. The local karters with have an opportunity to meet Austin Riley to gain a better understanding of the challenges he faces and how the sport of kart racing has helped him. Austin has been very successful, winning several championships and always being a top contender in all of his races.
CKRA is working with Austin's team and the local Moncton Autism Resource Center, putting together a special weekend for the local racers and the community. It will be taking place the weekend of July 31-Aug.1/15 with a charity race and kitchen party happening on Fri evening and the main night race Sat. evening. During the two days there will be times set aside to allow visitors to meet with Austin Riley and throughout the weekend there will be local celebrities and groups that support Autism awareness.
One of the clubs goals is to race funds for the Moncton Autism Center and we are looking towards local and racing inspired businesses to help with our cause. The areas we are asking for help with are;
Donations of food for the Fri. night kitchen party
Donations of small items for prizes going to the club racers (hats, shirts, promotional items)
Donations of large items to help generate funds for the Autism Center.
We are also inviting local business owners and celebrities to get involved in the charity race that would be in the rental karts and give people a unique opportunity to race against Austin himself.
CKRA would greatly appreciate anything that your company would offer, and in turn you would be given the opportunity to set up a display to promote your business or advertise through signage. Your company logo would be displayed on the CKRA's web site, Austin Riley race weekend event page. There are plans to have media coverage of this event and we would make sure to recognize all that became involved.
