Greater Moncton Corvette Club

Lounsbury Meeting Room – 7pm
Present :  Bob Cormier, Roger and Angela Bourgeois, Rick and Helen Estabrooks, Marc and Sandra Melanson, Richard and Carrie Anne Rioux, Darlene Estabrooks and Ray Cormier, Kim and Dave MacPherson, Debbie MacPherson, Trueman Copp and Margaret Mayes, Tom and Teri Osler, Derwin and Debbie Cooling.
Everyone was welcomed to the meeting by President Bob Cormier.
Minutes of previous meeting stand as presented, motion to accept made by Marc and seconded by Carrie Anne.
Old Business :  1) Bob provided recap of July 7-10 Atlantic Nationals. Thursday morning Doug MacDonald opened up his collection on Henri Dunant Street where 14 vettes participated.  Thanks to Doug and Wendy for their hospitality with food, drinks and information on the many questions asked. From there folks headed to Roger and Angie's for lunch of pizza and snacks, thank you to them for opening their garage to us and allowing out of town people to wash and detail their cars.  From there cars headed to AJM Classics where the warm up show was taking place.  Friday there were no club planned events.  Saturday was or annual corvette show in Centennial park.  We had 86ish corvettes show up through the day.  Big thank you to all that came for the day from long distances NB, PEI, NS, NFLD and Ontario.  We sold cold drinks and had a 50/50 for our charities winner was Pat Pegg from PEI.  Sunday we again met up at Centennial park in our area with a great turn out.  We again sold cold drinks and had another 50/50 with the winner being Serge St. Coeur. Thank you to everyone for helping out, ladies and Ray selling 50/50, to all who helped set up and tear down, your help was definitely appreciated.
Our club had 2 winners - Bob received award for best audio system and Tom received $1000 tire coupon.
2)  July 15-18 Yarmouth Seafest, Bob advised he was unfortunately unable to attend but heard only good things about the event.  Roger Bourgeois provided recap of event.  Left Moncton with 5 cars and met up with members from New England states approx. 30 cars came over on the Cat Thursday and all plan to go to Bowling Green in 2024.  Other club members travelled to Yarmouth based on their schedules, some arriving early Friday.  Yarmouth has changed since the last event with many businesses downtown closing, restaurants and small shops.  Friday night was the Greet and Meet.  Saturday was a nice day with downtown blocked off for the car show.  Ivan Hines has the corvette show in a parking lot in the middle so most cars can be together.  Great show with unique trophies.  Three boats were hired to bring us up and down the harbour for 3 hours with refreshments and chowder and rappie pie, we saw the Cat come in and after it docked and settled we got close and saw how amazing it is.  Next morning everybody had different leaving times, we had a prior engagement to visit friends on the way back and to stop at the IWK.
3)  July 23-24 Campbelton  Run was postponed to Aug 20 due to weather concerns in the area, a last minute run for Sunday was put together by Roger and Angie to Caraquet.  Roger provided details, left Moncton with 4 cars, met up with Ed in Cocagne.  Picked up 3 more in Miramichi.  One was member Dennis and Michelle Gionet from St. Simon who brought us to their home for a visit of his garage and beautiful property.  They made reservations for a restaurant down on the boardwalk.  After we left to go toward Bathurst we met 5 other vettes and stopped for a chat and one very nice 61 who we had met years ago stayed on with the group.  We followed on the Northern part of Acadian Peninsula to Bathurst where we mostly parted ways.
4) July 30 - GMCC BBQ held at Tom and Teri Osler's home in St Antoine.  We started the afternoon off with a cruise through Scoudouc, Shediac Bridge, Cocagne, Bouctouch, St Marie to Tom and Teri's place.  Bob advised he had a great time unfortunately had to leave early but heard the food was great and everyone had a wonderful time. The winner of the gas card was Lindou.
5)  July 31, Memramcook car show the 22nd annual.  Update provided by Roger.  13 cars from our club participated or more as all did not park together.  We had to move our chairs as shade kept getting scarcer and scarcer.  The event had upwards of 375 cars or more.  We got to talk to lots of people.
Financial Report :  Provided by Treasurer Tom Osler.  Opening balance XXXX, credits 2336.33, debits $1523.79, closing Balance XXXXX.  Motion to accept made by Trueman seconded by Marc all in favor motion carried.
Bills for Payment : Angie for lunch during Atlantic Nationals, $54.40.  Motion to accept for payment made by Teri seconded by Carrie Anne, all in favor motion carried.  Teri for the BBQ $310.07.  Motion to accept for payment Richard seconded by Dave all in favor motion carried.
New Business :  1)  PEI has cancelled Vettefest 2022 and hope to be back for 2023.
2)  Yarmouth 2023, Ivan has advised will start on Friday and has blocked off rooms starting Thursday July 13, many from the club will be leaving Thursday and staying until Sunday.
3)  Aug 6 Saint John Poker Run leaving McDonalds at 8 am
4)  Aug 13/14 to be planned
5)  Aug 20/21 Campbelton Run leaving Irving Dieppe 8:45 reminder email to be sent to determine numbers.
6)  Aug 24 – 29 Carlisle
7)  Aug 26 Friday event Angie read request sent by Kevin Landry will be posted on calendar and facebook post.  She will reply that it has been posted but cannot guarantee attendance.
8)  Gas card for Yarmouth event drawn at meeting winner Amand.
9)  Sept - possible run to PEI
10)  Oct 23 Lobster Run organized by Trueman
11)  Roger will reach out to Flawless (Robb Kraft) to determine if business is open.
12)  Pins and Pens need to be ordered; Bob will make contacts provided by Roger.
Follow up to last months minutes – it is not necessary to bring 3 copies of minutes to meetings, they are posted and sent the week prior to the meeting.

Winner of 50/50 was Debbie MacPherson in the amount of $28.50.
